FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: armour-piercing shell includes combat element, housing and hypersonic ramjet engine. Air intake devices, first and second air intakes, are located in the front part of housing. Adjustment of air amount supplied inside the shell is ensured by controlled air intake. Combat element is located in the centre of armour-piercing shell body. Shell body contains housing of stick and housing of combat element with spacers between them. Combustion chamber having the shape of Laval nozzle with rigid retractable nozzle head pieces with jets is located in the tail part of armour-piercing shell. Pyrocartridge is used to ignite stick. Obturating rings are arranged outside the housing.

EFFECT: development of shell which is suitable for destruction of ground, surface, air armored targets.
