SUBSTANCE: proposed relay designed for differential protection of transformers upon occurrence of short circuits where magnetizing in-rush currents are probable in case unloaded transformer is turned on has intervening current transformer, rectifier unit, final element, monostable multivibrator whose input functions as differential relay triggering input, clock generator, first and second short-pulse shapers, threshold unit, first and second OR gates, RS flip-flop, AND gate, memory register, pulse counter, subtraction unit, bidirectional limiter, adder, and nonrecursive filter.
EFFECT: enhanced precision.
