FIELD: storage battery chargers for various automatic control devices and computers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed charger that functions to charge batteries from supply mains through converter and operates in floating charge mode at the same time determining presence or absence of battery in charging circuit and precluding negative voltage build-up across output in case of polarity reversal during battery installation has dc converter whose input is connected to voltage supply and output, to first input of switching member and to that of charge control pulse generator whose output is connected to control input of battery presence sensing unit, output and input of the latter being connected, respectively, to second input and output of switching member. Output of the latter is connected through diode to output filter and through switch, to positive pole of storage battery and to input of polarity reversal indicating circuit.
EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities.
