FIELD: ship-hoisting jobs; devices for centering and gripping sunken objects.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method is performed by means of U-shaped hoist and transportation unit having vertical and horizontal sections. Proposed method includes positioning the hoist and transportation unit under water in vertical and horizontal planes above object to be hoisted, lowering the hoisting and transportation unit on this object and placing it between vertical sections of unit, centering the hoist and transportation unit by means of levers of centering device after their extension towards each other till dynamic contact with object to be hoisted has been obtained. Then hoist and transportation unit is lowered to contact of its horizontal section with object to be hoisted and object is gripped by means of bearing cantilevers extended simultaneously in pairs towards each other till contact with object to be hoisted is obtained. Then, object is hoisted above ground and towed under water.

EFFECT: enhanced reliability; facilitated procedure of hoisting sunken object.
