FIELD: electrical engineering; automatic field control systems for synchronous motors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves motor field control during each particular moment using either stator voltage control circuit or motor load angle control circuit depending on angle value. As soon as load angle goes beyond desired range, field current is no longer varied by voltage variation and is adjusted by load angle deviation from desired rated value until this deviation value reverses its polarity. Then field current is varied by stator circuit voltage deviation. This method provides for limiting output signals of automatic field current regulation circuits in case winding temperature rises at the moment above its maximal level corresponding to field current ranging between 0.95 and 1.0 of its rated value until winding temperature drops to rated operating value.
EFFECT: enhanced stability of motor synchronous running at minimal stator loss and regulated rotor temperature.
