METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF PAROTID SALIVARY GLAND Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, oral surgery.

SUBSTANCE: one should perform paracentesis in parotid chewing area along natural skin folds beginning from hairy part of temporal region, then downwards along tragus' crest, along the border of ear's lobe by turning upwards along concha auriculae with subsequent horizontal passage towards hairy part. After separating a skin fragment one should resect the section of parotid gland with tumor to place a volumetric allotransplant of "Alloplant" series between an auriculotemporal nerve and skin, moreover, it should be cut to be of unsteady thickness according to the shape of parotid salivary gland. Moreover, thin part serves as an interlayer between an auriculotemporal nerve and skin, and thick part restores facial contour. The method enables to decrease the number of complications and improve cosmetic effect.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of operation.
