METHOD FOR NOTIFICATION OF CREW ABOUT FUEL LEAKAGE ON AIRCRAFT DURING FLIGHT Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: aircraft engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method includes determining indications of fuel meter and use meter in certain time moments. Amount of fuel used from previous moment is determined separately from indications of these devices. From value determined from fuel meter a value is subtracted which is determined from use meter, and compared to possible limit value. In case of excess of this, a conclusion is taken about present leakage. Possible limit value is equal to result of multiplication of assurance factor, used amount of fuel determined from use meter and totals of relative errors of fuel meter and use meter in absolute values, or total of maximum absolute errors of fuel meter and use meter multiplied on assurance factor. Moments for determining indications are selected either with even spaces, for example, equal to result of division of possible value of fuel meter indications possible change caused by occidental processes, and minimal use of fuel by engines, or in such a way that set amount of fuel passes through fuel meter in each time length. Method is useable for maneuverable planes with additional determining of presence overloads influencing indications.
