FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircraft engineering. proposed method allows using fuel meters for defining preset fuel residue in slipper fuel tank (SFT) to lift restrictions on flying aircraft. Basic fact of reaching preset amount of fuel residue in SFT is defined to calculate fuel amount to be consumed thereafter to reach preset residue. Here, fuel meter readings are recorded and tracked unless magnitude exceeding fixed one by preset amount is reached. Thereafter signal is generated to warn about reaching preset fuel residue. Said basic fact represents the beginning of SFT residue consumption. Fuel pumps for transfer of fuel from SFT into internal tank are additionally used at the beginning of SFT fuel consumption to record internal tank fuel meter readings. Here, fuel meter readings should stay in preset range. Said basic fact may be set as the end of tank fuel consumption before SFT fuel consumption. Onboard computer is used to define occurrence of basic fact, to record and track fuel meter readings and to generate signal. Said signal is displayed by appropriate indicators.
