FIELD: transport engineering; vehicles powered by diesel engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed sensor can be used in fuel feed control systems of automobile diesel engines as feedback element to provide control action onto quality of working fuel-air mixture moment of its injection into combustion chamber and also in systems of self-contained ecological monitoring of automobile diesel engines. Sensor has filter, two electrodes insulated from each other and made of passive (nonreactive) metal or alloy in form of plates made as hollow semicylinders with thin layer of catalyst applied to concave surface of one of semicylinders, and thermocouples connected to electrodes, and "cyclone" type filter with definite geometrical relationships of elements whose outlet branch pipe communicates with coaxially arranged electrodes and is made in form of tube with blanked upper part and holes drilled in upper part in horizontal plane at angle to side surface of tube. Said holes are arranged in area of concave surface of electrodes.
EFFECT: provision of corrective action on speed and load of diesel engine depending on toxicity of exhaust gases.
