FIELD: agricultural engineering.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus has chain conveyor, knife rotors arranged above chain conveyor, and stirring units positioned above chain conveyor, which is composed of immovable rods. Each knife rotor has housing arranged in equally spaced relation with respect to knife rotor and equipped with inlet suction opening having sector corresponding to angle of 160-175 deg. Suction opening is facing toward chain conveyor upper run. Housing sector is rotated through angle of 10-15 deg from vertical axis of knife rotor in direction of rotation of knife rotor. Discharge opening having sector corresponding to angle of 100-145 deg is arranged below horizontal axis of knife rotor. Housing sector is rotated through angle of 5-10 deg from vertical axis of knife rotor in direction of rotation of knife rotor. Discharge opening is equipped with branch pipe. Planes of working faces of knife rotor are arranged at an angle of 28-35 deg to tangent of circle extending through cutting edges of knives of knife rotor. Planks are arranged between knives of rotor at an angle of 28-40 deg to tangent of circle extending through outer edges of knife rotor. Diameters of circle extending through outer edges of planks are smaller than diameter of circle of cutting edges of rotor knives. Cutting edges of knives and plank surfaces are extending in parallel with knife rotor axis. Stirrers arranged in front of knife rotors under chain conveyor are made in the form of shafts carrying elliptical sprockets engageable with chain conveyor. Air flow guides arranged in front of knife rotors above chain conveyor have free ends resting upon chain conveyor and are aligned with vertical planes extending through axes of knife rotors. Stirring units arranged downward of air flow guides are made in the form of tape conveyors with elastic piles on tape surfaces. Tape conveyors are connected by drive providing for opposite rotation thereof and positioned transverse to chain conveyor.
EFFECT: improved orientation of onion and root leaves, improved cutting and processing quality and reduced damage to and losses of product.
