SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural machine building, in particular, to machines for removal of bunches (tops, leaves) from bulb onion during post-harvesting work prior to laying for long-term storage and delivery to vegetable markets. Plant topper machine comprises a frame, a drive-equipped vertical shaft with detachable knives set in pairs, having an index drive with a continuous branch, a bar conveyor with supporting and guiding rolls, with master and slave shafts, axial fans, having individual drive, detachable knives with cutting edges, guides of flows of non-cut and cut onions, settling chambers to collect and transport cut tops, mineral litter and non-standard onions and a pneumatic line. Master continuous branch of the bar conveyor is arranged in two levels with elevation difference of at least 700 mm, over each working section of a bar conveyor there is an axial fan installed, and underneath - driven detachable knives installed in pairs.

EFFECT: reduced power inputs, higher efficiency and quality of tops cutting.
