FIELD: fire-fighting equipment, particularly for charging powder fire-extinguishers.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus is used for charging powder fire-extinguisher by creating vacuum in tank with the use of vacuum pump and simultaneously pumping compressed air at slightly elevated pressure in upper part of discharge hopper and beneath aerating partition disposed in lower hopper part. Apparatus comprises discharge hopper attached by outlet connection pipe to inlet nozzle, filter and filling means. Apparatus has vacuum pump, electropneumatic valve, pressure reducers, dehydrator filter, control device and strain-gage force transducers. Filling means is installed on tank neck, particularly of powder fire-extinguisher. Filling means are formed as truncated cone to provide filling of fire-extinguishers of all dimension-types. Tank to be filled is installed on plate and empty tank weight is determined by electronic scheme of control device with the use of strain-gage force transducers. Weight of powder to be discharged into tank is set by means of control device panel switch. Then filling process is initiated by transmitting electric signal from control device to electropneumatic valve, which opens compressed air flow from source to vacuum pump and through dehydrator filter and pressure reducers to discharge hopper for tank filling. Control device simultaneously calculates final tank weight. On reaching above final weight electric signal is taken away from electropneumatic valve and filling process is stopped. After that control device transmits short signal to vibrator kinematically connected to excess air cleaning filter to remove powder particles from filter.
EFFECT: increased economy and filling accuracy, reduced labor inputs and filling time.
