FIELD: packing equipment, particularly binding machines.

SUBSTANCE: device has support plate and operative arm. Operative arm comprises pressure mechanism installed in body, cutting mechanism and tightening mechanism kinematically connected one to another. Kinematical connection is made as pressure mechanism of single-stage cam 7 mounted on shaft and cutting mechanism of two-stage cam 9 installed on shaft and having two pushers 10, 11. Pusher 10 is connected to engagement means 8. Pusher 11 is connected to tightening mechanism through operative arm. In one embodiment cam 7 has quasi-sinusoidal engagement means with working surface made as cylindrical surface facing inside cam 7 profile. Pusher 10 of cam 9 adjoining cylindrical surface have working profile of cycloid shape subjected to the following relation: 1.25<R/r<3.5, where R is radius of working surface 12 of engagement means 8, mm; r is radius of cycloid generating circle, mm. In another embodiment profile of working cam 7 surface and working profile of two-stage cam 9 pusher adjoining thereof are made as sections of Archimedes's spiral.

EFFECT: increased reliability, possibility of packing cylindrical items of small diameter along with provision of sufficient band tension.
