SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition used for treatment of diabetes mellitus and comprising metformin as an active substance and the following accessory substances by variant I: sorbitol, calcium phosphate dihydrate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, polyethylene glycol and stearic acid or its salts and, optionally, starch, and by variant II the following substances are used as special additives: sugar, starch, stearic acid or its salts. Compositions comprise an active substance in doses that is suitable in applying in the medicinal practice.
