FIELD: construction industry, mining and other branches of industry.

SUBSTANCE: method involves fixing sieving surface in casing along straight lines so that said surface is inclined toward discharge end; supplying air and material to be separated into spirals through their open ends at one side; discharging large-sized fraction; manufacturing sieving surface in the form of one or several spirals and setting spiral ends beyond hermetically sealed casing; measuring gap between coils and fixing depending on nominal material classification size; evacuating air together with small particles into settling chamber from hermetically sealed casing; separating small-sized fraction; creating flow of said particles inside spirals and further between coils in casing; simultaneously exposing spirals to vibration for causing material to move over inclined surface to discharge ends and disintegrating material aggregates; manufacturing spirals from wires of round or trapezium section; measuring spiral coil gaps by means of probes or optical instrument and fixing by means of stops. Apparatus has casing arranged at an angle to sieving surface. Spirals are equipped at their one ends with tension device for changing and fixing of gaps between spiral coils. Apparatus is further equipped with device for feeding of material to be classified into spirals and small-sized fraction settling chamber. Casing is made hermetically sealed and is connected to vibrator and communicated with fan. Spiral ends are positioned beyond casing. Spirals are manufactured from resilient material.

EFFECT: increased efficiency in classification of bulk materials by size and wider range of usage.
