FIELD: electrical engineering; starters of vehicles using internal-combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed starter-generator has contactless convertible electrical machine whose stator is rigidly coupled through first structural member with internal-combustion engine housing. Annular rotor is secured inside second structural member of starter-generator and rigidly joined with seating surface of antifriction bearing. Second structural member is joined with engine crankshaft through third structural member. First structural member functions as crankshaft gland holder. Second structural member is rectangular-section structure with no side surface on first structural member end. Second structural member is fixed to inner seating surface of antifriction bearing. Outer seating surface of this bearing is fixed to electrical machine stator.
EFFECT: optimized use of electrical machine output power due to reduced air gap and simplified design.
