FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: mechanical seal of plunger pump has housing which receives the groups of sealing rings and flexible collar. Each group of sealing rings is made in the flexible bushing. The sealing rings are mounted with an eccentricity with respect to each other from the outer side. The sealing rings are mounted in pairs. The outer rings in each pair are mounted with an eccentricity with respect to each other in opposite direction. The adjacent sealing rings in each group are compressed to each other in the axial direction. The opening in the sealing rings which bounds their inner cylindrical side is made concentrically to the outer cylindrical side. The flexible bushing is provided with ring grooves which receive sealing ring . The adjacent grooves are shifted in pair with respect to each other in the diametrically opposite direction. Each flexible bushing is mounted in the sleeve made of a hard material. The bottom of the sleeve is provided with opening.
