METHOD OF GASEOUS OXYGEN PRODUCTION, STORAGE AND DISTRIBUTION AND OPEN-TYPE OXYGEN SYSTEM (VARIANTS) Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2241899 C1

FIELD: cryogenic equipment, particularly for storing, gasification and feeding oxygen to consumers for usage thereof in mobile conditions, namely in aviation, fleet, mountain climbing and medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves gasifying liquid oxygen contained in heat-insulated vessel by supplying heat from ambient atmosphere; storing gaseous oxygen in above vessel and delivering gaseous oxygen to recipient. Liquid oxygen if poured into cylinder. Discharge of gaseous oxygen in predetermined regime is carried out by regulating liquid oxygen gasification intensity due to changing heat-insulation performance, namely by varying its thickness or area. Open-type oxygen system comprises high-pressure vessel with shut-off means, oxygen gas pressure regulation reducer having pressure gauge, gaseous oxygen flow rate indicator and oxygen breathing mask with receiver. All above components are connected one to another. High pressure cylinder for receiving gaseous and liquid oxygen has adjustable heat-insulation. Regulation reducer is provided with valve discharging excessive gaseous oxygen to oxygen mask when cylinder pressure exceeds acceptable pressure value. Shut-off means has thermal bridge with the first end directed into cylinder and having gas-receiving means for gaseous oxygen outlet and the second end connected to regulation reducer. All oxygen system members operating at low temperatures are mechanically stable to low temperatures. Device formed in accordance with another embodiment is provided with low-pressure cylinder. Hose for feeding gaseous oxygen to oxygen mask is connected to cylinder neck through sealing cap having connection pipe. Low end of connection pipe directed inside cylinder has gas-receiving means. Attached to upper end of connection pipe is gaseous oxygen pressure indicator used as valve for discharge excessive gaseous oxygen to oxygen mask when cylinder pressure exceeds acceptable pressure value.

EFFECT: possibility of controlled gasification process, reduced power inputs for device transportation due to size and weight reduction, possibility of gaseous oxygen accumulation, which results in its operational time increase.
