SUBSTANCE: proposed method for discontinuous transmission and fast in-band transfer of signals indicating changes in configuration of voice communication systems where source data are interleaved for their transfer from first component of communication system to its second component includes detection of source data activity failure periods and transmission of pause descriptor frames during these periods from first component of communication system to its second component; some of transmitted pause descriptor frames are interleaved using interleaving algorithm other than that used for source data. For instance, bit-by-bit diagonal interleaving of source data and bit-by-bit interleaving of definite pause descriptor frames can be made. Method for changing communication system configuration includes transmission of escape frame instead of voice data frame; escape frame incorporates great number of bits affording its distinction from voice data frames. Escape frame has data field indicating definite changes in communication system configuration to be made for second component.
EFFECT: enhanced economic efficiency with respect to capacity of radio link and fixed communication line; reduced labor consumption.
