SUBSTANCE: communication system supports plurality of coding circuits of source and channel coding. Mode indicator can be transferred together with useful load data to inform receiving device about definite circuit used at the moment. Mode request that informs receiving device about definite circuit that should be used for information transferred over backward radio link can be also transmitted. Mode indicator and mode request are transferred independently in alternating frames.
EFFECT: reduced amount of resources required for mode information transfer.
