FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves heating tobacco to temperature of at least 1200C at pressure of from 0.25 to 7 abs. Bars, with tobacco moisture content being maintained at the level above 10% during processing; maintaining tobacco moisture content at the level exceeding 10%, when tobacco is discharged from system. Tobacco is heated in processing line of Barley type in closed curved drier, with pneumatic transportation being provided under pressure. Tobacco is processed for 5-25 s. Tobacco article produced by said method is described.
EFFECT: improved aromatic and/or taste properties of tobacco.
