FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method includes converting rotation of driving shaft into reciprocation of a rocker. The reciprocation is transformed into the reciprocation of the movable link. The movement of the movable link is transmitted to a mechanism, e.g. overrunning clutch, which transforms reciprocation of the movable link into the unidirectional rotation of the driven shaft. To provide uniform rotation of the driven shaft it should rotate with a maximum uniform velocity. To change the speed of rotation of the driven shaft the movable link is displaced with the use of a control mechanism, e.g. hydraulic cylinder, along the axis of rotation of the rocker. The movable link is affected by the rocker in so manner that, when the lines of action of the force which acts on the movable link and axis of rotation of the rocker are aligned, the movable link stops.
EFFECT: enhanced transmitted power and torque.
