FIELD: mineral fertilizers.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of complex fertilizers via nitric acid method, in particular to isolation of calcium nitrate crystal hydrate from nitric-phosphoric acid solution. Initial solution is cooled to initiate crystallization. Crystals, once separated from mother liquor, are washed with cooled (from -10 to +5оС) 5-35% nitric acid solution in proportion of 0.05-0.15 wt parts per 1 wt part crystals, then treated with nitric acid, and washed with the same cooled nitric acid solution now in proportion of 0.1-0.15 wt parts per 1 wt part treated crystals.
EFFECT: increased crystal washing efficiency allowing effective removal of nitric acid from salt crystals.
