FIELD: heavy metal hydrometallurgy, in particular nickel electrorefining.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for compensation of nickel deficiency in electrolyte. Method includes anode dissolution of nickel anodes and anode residues in sulfuric acid-based electrolyte in electrolysis bath with anodes and anode nickel cathodes under reversible current, in electrolyte with origin sulfuric acid concentration of 80-200 g/l at temperature of 25-800C, wherein direct current density is 0.5-2.0 kA/m2, ratio of direct/reverse current density is 1.0-2.0; ratio of direct/reverse current passage time is 4-12; and reverse current passage time is ≤1 s.
EFFECT: improved bath capacity; decreased energy consumption; increased current density.
