FIELD: hydrometallurgy of copper; galvanotechnics; electrolytic refining of copper.
SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of electrolytic refining of copper and is dealt with hydrometallurgy of copper, in particular with electrolytic refining of copper. The method may be used in galvanotechnics. The method of electrolytic refining of copper provides for electrochemical dissolution of anodes and cathodic settling of copper from an electrolyte containing sulfuric acid, copper, nickel. At that the concentration of sulfuric acid is kept at the rate of: where: CH2SO4 - concentration of sulfuric acid; СCu - concentration of copper; CNi - concentration of nickel. The method provides a decrease of a specific consumption of power for production of cathode copper and an increase of its quality.
EFFECT: the invention allows to reduce a specific consumption of power used for production of cathode copper and to increase its quality.
