FIELD: environment protection.

SUBSTANCE: method involves subdividing region into administrative-territorial units involving towns, including industrial centers; collecting data by using remote control methods; providing local monitoring on the basis of environment qualitative factors and determining territories with different ecological situations; while providing said monitoring, evaluating changes, with time, of environment qualitative factors most sensitive to controlling actions; using certain factors selected from group of factors for evaluating ecological situation on territory; determining for each administrative-territorial unit integral factor for evaluation of effectiveness of ecological management and total factor for the whole region with the use of predetermined formula; recognizing ecological management method satisfactory when resultant factors are positive, and recognizing ecological management method unsatisfactory when resultant factors are negative; additionally determining complex factor of evaluation of effectiveness of regional ecological management.

EFFECT: increased efficiency in evaluation of ecological situation on vast territories and minimized costs for analytical investigations.
