SUBSTANCE: environmentally hazardous toxic-contaminated and earthquake-prone areas are selected. Geo-ecological monitoring with integral-complex estimation of the environmental hazard index Io is carried out. The monitoring is carried out using a linear and/or root-mean-square form of approximating the component of the environmental hazard index. Conclusions on the monitoring results are made from the integral-complex estimation of the environmental hazard index Io, using results of chemical analysis of samples of bottom sediments and water. The samples used are collected from a selected cell for analysing the area of the environment. Normal and gradient geophysical i-poles on the area of the environment are used based on: a dimensionless root-mean-square distribution parameter Ii equal to the product of the risk index Ri and the frequency (units ) Ωi of its manifestation. The values are determined separately for each component Ii of the index Io. Ii=Σi(RiΩi), where Ωi=ΔXi/σi, and ΔXi=(Xi-Xi,av) denote deviation from the average, Xi,av is the average value Xi, σi2=(l/(n-l)Σ1(Xi-Xi,av)2 is standard deviation, σi is square deviation of the random value Xi, and estimation of the significance of each component of Ii. Points of the scale m are calculated for each i-th parameter of the component Ii , where m (Io)=(l/k)Σm(Ii)Ii i, and k is the number of the component Ii of the Io index.
