FIELD: geophysics; finding coordinates of expected earthquake focus.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method used for finding coordinates of expected earthquake focus, rock impacts, and controlling electromagnetic situation in seismic zone of earth's crust from flying vehicle includes measurement of electromagnetic radiation in four direction-finding channels, separation of harmonic signals at heterodyne frequency, and measurement of phase shifts between these signals and heterodyne voltage. Phase shift measurement results are used to determine direction to expected earthquake focus in two mutually perpendicular planes by phase-shift method. Provision is incorporated to suppress spurious electromagnetic radiation received over intermodulation channels.
EFFECT: enhanced noise immunity and precision of finding expected earthquake focus.
