FIELD: seismology. SUBSTANCE: procedure is meant to determine coordinates of anticipated earthquakes, rock bursts and to control electromagnetic situation in earthquake-risky zone of Earth's crust from aircraft. According to procedure intensity of electromagnetic field is measured, difference signal of two subsequent measurements is found and this difference signal is integrated. Difference signal is divided by integrated difference signal. Obtained value is compared with preset threshold value. If it exceeds preset threshold value frequency-converted electromagnetic radiation is multiplied by electromagnetic radiation received over four direction finding channels. Harmonic signals on heterodyne frequency are extracted. Phase shifts between them and heterodyne voltage are measured and used to determine directions on to epicenter of anticipated earthquake by phase method in two mutually perpendicular planes. Receiving antennas of measurement and direction finding channels are positioned in this case in the form of asymmetrical geometric cross in which intersection receiving antenna of measurement channel is placed. Heterodyne voltage is phase-shifted through + 90 degrees and is employed for additional frequency conversion of received electromagnetic radiation. Electromagnetic radiation additionally frequency converted is phase-shifted through + 90 degrees. Then it is summed up with main frequencyconverted electromagnetic radiation. Obtained summary electromagnetic radiation is multiplied by received electromagnetic radiation. Voltage on heterodyne frequency is extracted. It is detected and used as controlling signal for permission of further processing of summary electromagnetic radiation. EFFECT: enhanced noise immunity and precision in determination of coordinates of epicenter of anticipated earthquake by way of suppression of spurious electromagnetic radiation ( noise ) received over additional channels. 4 dwg
