FIELD: microwave radio engineering; radar stations with rotating antenna assemblies.
SUBSTANCE: proposed waveguide rotating joint has two broadband waveguide-to-coaxial adapters loosely joined through output leads of large-diameter coaxial line conductors. Transition from waveguide to coaxial line is effected by spirally bending waveguide in E pane at the same time transferring to reduced elevation followed by its positioning along circumference, bending through 90 deg. in H plane, and connecting to coaxial line conductors. As an alternative of waveguide rotating joint, waveguide-to-coaxial transition is effected by dividing waveguide in E plane into two equal-height waveguide channels followed by disposing waveguide outputs over circumference at the same time bending them through 90 deg. in H plane and connecting them to coaxial line conductors. Four-channel power splitter may be used in this waveguide joint.
EFFECT: enlarged capabilities of joint with respect to operating frequency band, power level, and number of channels.
