FIELD: measuring engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method includes laminar filtration of gas from one closed pressure-tight space to another pressure-tight space through a specimen. Harmonic gas oscillation of various frequencies and constant amplitude are generated in the closed pressure-tight space upstream from the specimen. The change in pressure and temperature amplitudes upstream and downstream to the specimen are measured, the amplitude differences are calculated, and three values of frequency are determined from the condition equality of amplitude differences. The active porosity is calculated with a computer by solving the system of three filtration equations.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of determining active porosity for difficulty penetrable materials.
