FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises injecting indicating fluid comprising an insoluble salt-indicator to the water of the steam generator with a constant concentration and flow rate during a given period of time and measuring the decrease of concentration in time after the stop of injecting. The extent of contamination is determined by the rate of variation of concentration of the salt-indicator.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of determining the extent of contamination.
