FIELD: public utilities.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machines for compacting snow removed from motor roads and making snow blocks which can be used for building winter motor roads air fields, snow retention walls and hangars. Proposed device contains hopper with charge and discharge ports, snow compacting chamber with snow compacting mechanism including plunger with its displacement drive. Upper edge of plunger is provided with plate with port made so that, with plunger moved forward, port in plate coincides with discharge port of hopper to provide getting in on snow, and with plunger moved backwards said plate overlaps discharge port of hopper. Lower part of plunger is made in form box limiting space in which compacting and putting out of snow blocks take place. Plunger is furnished with vibrator to transmit vibrations to snow by means of pins.

EFFECT: increased capacity, simplified design of device, reduced power consumption.
