STEAM TRAP Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: heat-power engineering; devices for continuous discharge of condensate from steam using equipment and steam pipe lines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed steam trap is provided with four-way (three-way) cock for steam and gaseous media with packing placed in cavity of four-way plug; this packing is made from granulated or artificial materials fixed by means of grids enclosed between perforated plates connected with plug body; perforated plates are interconnected by welding or by means of thread or strainers and springy rings or screws. Steam trap is mounted horizontally; cavities of plug flow-through passages are made in form of taper pipes with baffles plates in wide part and with grooves in narrow part; body is provided with two valves (cocks), supply branch pipe, blank and jacket for preheating the body by means of heat-transfer agent.

EFFECT: universality in operation; self-cleaning of steam trap and cleaning of condensate.
