FIELD: relay protection and automatic control of power systems.
SUBSTANCE: use is made of group of main and additional reactance relays installed at near and distant ends of power transmission line range under protection. Points of installation of protective gear are hypothetical points of line faults. Components of currents and sums of preceding components of voltages critical for same point of hypothetical fault assumed as currents and voltages of hypothetical ground faults are supplied to inputs of main and additional reactance relays. All groups of reactance relays installed at near or distant end of protected range (or arbitrary number of groups at any point of mentioned range) incorporating three single-phase and three interphase reactance relays constitute separate groups of final relays for each kind of fault including respective groups of relays for near and distant ends of protected range.
EFFECT: enhanced sensitivity of protective gear.
