FIELD: shipbuilding; construction of inflatable boats and methods of building such boats from elastic rubberized fabric.

SUBSTANCE: proposed inflatable boat has two symmetrical sides coming together in fore and aft extremities; boat is divided into hermetic compartments by means of internal strips; said compartments are provided with charging valves; boat is also provided with elastic bottom and cover members. Each side is made from different blanks with curvilinear longitudinal edges and rectilinear transversal edges: fore edge, intermediate fore edge, central edge, intermediate aft edge; it is connected to aft blank. Central blank of each side is provided with two charging valves and elastic taper strips are mounted in between them. Elastic bottom is secured to sides by means of angles (one angle per compartment); one side of angle is secured to lower part of compartment and other side is secured to bottom. Proposed method includes marking the outlines of blanks, cutting-out the blanks with curvilinear and rectilinear transversal edges, bonding them together by means of adhesive and sewing by transversal seams. Seams are covered with sealing-up tapes on both sides after which rectilinear transversal edges are connected forming the tubular assembly cloths. Then, cover members are mounted. In mounting the strips, cloth of sides is turned-out and bent with wrong side outside. Base of elastic taper strip is bonded to wrong side of tubular cavity; joint is sealed-up with band on both sides and angles are secured to boat sides over perimeter; bottom is secured on horizontal webs of angles.

EFFECT: enhanced stability of boat in heeling and heading; facilitated procedure of building; reduced consumption of labor.
