METHOD AND MECHANICAL CONNECTOR FOR TRANSOM BAR CONNECTION TO CASING Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: building units, particularly windows made of polyvinylchloride profiles.

SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing end surface of transom bar, drilling through orifices in transom bar with the use of sample, wherein axis of orifices is parallel to end surface plane; inserting mechanical connector in transom bar and securing connector to transom bar with the use of self-tapping fasteners extending perpendicular to end surface of transom bar through casing and inner bush of mechanical connector. Mechanical connector is attached to transom bar by one bush screw having metric thread. Axis of mechanical connector securing to transom bar crosses axis of transom bar connection to casing at axis of mechanical connector symmetry. Mechanical connector comprises body with through side orifices formed in sides thereof, stiffening ribs, inner bush and stop toe. Axis of side orifices is parallel to stop shoe plane. Bush axis is parallel to that of side orifices. Through side orifices are adapted for receiving bush screw with metric thread in upper body part. Inner bush has length of not less than half of body height. Bush axis intersects axis of side orifices for bush screw at axis of body symmetry.
