FIELD: manufacture of engines; water pumps for cooling systems of internal combustion engines, mainly automobile engines.

SUBSTANCE: proposed water pump has housing, sealing unit and shaft with impeller mounted on it; impeller has relief passages; pump is also provided with pulley and bearing unit. Outlet holes of relief passages are brought to leading edges of working blades on side of working blades of impeller; their number corresponds to number of working blades; rear side of impeller is provided with additional blades. Ends of additional blades are bent in way of rotation of impeller.

EFFECT: enhanced durability due to reduced axial force on bearing unit.
