FIELD: shipbuilding; devices for breaking ice cover.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes ship with ice-breaking attachment. Attachment is made in form of plate supported by connecting rods of crank mechanism. Its fore part (in way of motion of ship) is provided with member possessing positive buoyancy and cutters mounted on its upper part; aft part is connected with floating drums by means of cranks of crank mechanism; floating drums are provided with teeth and are rotatable around their horizontal axis. Plate may approach lower surface of ice cover due to cranks without mechanical impact against ice from below. Width of attachment is no less than width of ship's hull; attachment is connected to ship's hull by means of rods provided with cylindrical articulations at their ends. Rods rest against brackets by means of compression spring reducing angle of turn of rods.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of breaking ice cover.
