FIELD: radio engineering; small-size antenna assemblies.
SUBSTANCE: proposed controlled-pattern directional antenna is characterized in directivity and dimensions toward preemptive propagation of radiated and absorbed waves much shorter than quarter-wavelength. Used as antenna is oscillatory circuit resonance-tuned to desired frequency of transmitted or received electromagnetic signal that has flat capacitor whose metal plates are separated by insulating layer of definite thickness and at least one inductance component. Proposed method includes asymmetric connection of this oscillatory circuit to transmitter output or receiver input and installation of capacitor at distance l equal to antenna height from common conducting bus, l being shorter than quarter-wavelength.
EFFECT: enhanced effective height of small-size antenna.
