FIELD: converter engineering; stepless voltage and frequency control in multiphase secondary power supply systems.
SUBSTANCE: proposed converter is designed for intermediate enhancement of multiphase voltage frequency in primary windings of matching transformer by means of modulator as well as for stepless control of voltage and frequency in load circuits by means of demodulator installed in secondary windings of mentioned transformer, each made in the form of matrix array with bidirectional power transistor switches installed in assemblies. Current carried by modulator circuits is switched over under action of voltage across plates of filter capacitor whose partial discharge and next charge at each switching interval is effected by means of two diode bridges and additional transistors. Demodulator transistor switches are controlled with aid of logical pulse signals obtained by vector product of signals across outputs of pulse-phase control system and signals controlling modulator switches.
EFFECT: reduced mass and size of matching transformer; reduced switching loss in power transistors, and limited overvoltages.
