FIELD: electromechanical engineering; squirrel-cage rotors of induction motors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed squirrel-cage rotor has laminated ferromagnetic core accommodating squirrel-cage winding bars. Upper part of bar has single- or double-ended longitudinal rectangular-section lateral slots which are not filled with ferromagnetic material. Double-ended longitudinal slots provided in upper part of bar are alternately disposed on one and other sides of bar.
EFFECT: enhanced starting torque of motor without changing starting current.
