FIELD: electromechanical engineering; induction drive motors and generators operating under transient conditions. SUBSTANCE: rotor has shaft mounting toothed rotor barrel, squirrel cage in the of nonmagnetic conducting bars placed in longitudinal slots and soldered to nonmagnetic conducting end rings, and solid ferromagnetic hub fitted onto solid toothed rotor. Hub is attached to rotor barrel by means of screws and washers. During starting moment of induction motor, depth of electromagnetic wave propagation through rotor body is negligible and only solid hub carries current. Rotor has no slots on its surface. EFFECT: improved starting torque of motor and its transient characteristics; eliminated tooth harmonics in generator due to solid ferromagnetic hub and slotless rotor surface; improved reliability of motor due to more reliable attachment of winding bars and hub. 2 dwg
