FIELD: technological processes in machine engineering, formation of internal threads by means of plastic deforming.
SUBSTANCE: head includes at least three freely rotating thread knurling rollers. In order to enhance efficiency, each thread-knurling roller is provided with axle, radial-thrust bearing assemblies and nut. Housing is provided with rod having cone surface and with forks arranged in radial grooves of housing that engage with cone surface of rod and supporting thread-knurling rollers. Forks with rollers may move in radial direction by action of force applied to rod. Head may be provided with two cylindrical compression springs arranged in annular grooves of housing at side of ends of thread knurling rollers and used for creating constant engagement of forks with cone surface of rod and also preventing falling out of thread knurling rollers.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and accuracy of thread knurling.
