SUBSTANCE: method involves securing columns in cross-pieces of press by means of inner and outer nuts; preliminarily cold tightening nuts; heating columns in are between inner and outer nuts up to temperature enough to provide necessary extension for outer nuts rotation through designed angle; repeatedly loading hydraulic press after cold nut tightening and formed gaps between inner nuts and press cross-pieces are defined by inner nuts rotation after each loading operation.
EFFECT: provision of pressing down thread contact surfaces and support surfaces of the nuts with cross-pieces up to final thermal nut tightening.
