AGGREGATE FOR MAKING THIN STRIPS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: metallurgy, namely apparatuses for producing thin strips at continuous casting of metals and alloys.

SUBSTANCE: aggregate includes two pairs of water cooled rolls-crystallizers arranged in pairs without gap in the form of blocks mounted for forming inter-roll vessel having limiter of melt metal draining at one end of block in the form of stationary end plate; metal duct for supplying melt metal into inter-roll vessel; timing rotation drive unit; drawing rolls and unit for discharging strips for their further working. Aggregate also includes mechanism for regulating gap between blocks of rolls-crystallizers according to thickness of strip; intermediate vessel and unit for applying onto surface of rolls-crystallizers material non-wetted by melt metal. Block of rolls-crystallizers is arranged on panel formed by means of upper and lower plates rigidly joined one to other.

EFFECT: stable process of making thin strips with uniform macrostructure, enlarged manufacturing possibilities of aggregate, less loss of yield.
