METHOD FOR SURGICAL THERAPY OF MEDIAN POSTOPERATIVE VENTRAL HERNIAS IN HYPOGASTRIC AREA Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, surgery.

SUBSTANCE: one should dissect skin and subcutaneous-fatty fiber along suprapubic skin fold, dissect aponeurosis within rectus muscles of abdomen, exfoliate aponeurosis against rectus muscles by mobilizing hernial sac against the edges of hernial defect, perform plasty of the defect due to applying reticular synthetic implant to locate it between aponeurosis and rectus muscles of abdomen. One should fix the implant with interrupted sutures to posterior surface of exfoliated aponeurosis in accordance to hernial defect. In peculiar case, the implant should be cut and fixed at posterior surface of aponeurosis to overlap hernial defect with it leaving about 3-4 cm in all directions. The method enables to decrease the chance for wound infectioning in the course of operation.

EFFECT: decreased traumatism.
