FIELD: individual's life rescue equipment.
SUBSTANCE: shock-absorber for reducing dynamic forces acting upon falling individual has metal plank with set of openings arranged lengthwise of plank, flexible member formed as tape with paying-out reserve and width equal to width of openings. One of tape ends is made in the form of power loop. Other end of tape is formed as additional power loop rigidly fixed on metal plank and making continuation of tape portion providing paying-out reserve and made in the form of loop. Loop is passed through at least two tape openings. Length of paying-out reserve portion is selected on the basis of relation: , where l is length of tape portion providing for paying-out reserve; g is free falling acceleration; H is height from which individual is falling, with elongation of shock-absorber being taken in account; w is standard weight of individual; P is force created in shock-absorber tape.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability in operation and reduced weight of shock-absorber.
