DUAL-CHANNEL MIRROR-AND-LENS EYEPIECE (ALTERNATIVES) Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2256205 C2

FIELD: optics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed dual-channel mirror-and-lens eyepiece has mirror-and-lens channel of night viewing device with image converter and thermal imager lens channel disposed in central screening area of mirror-and-lens channel of night viewing device with image converter. Mirror-and-lens channel is made in the form of four components of which first one has cut central area, second surface of second component is covered with annular reflecting coat, third component is made in the form of meniscus whose concave surfaces are facing object space having internal reflecting coat on second surface and cut central area. Thermal imager lens channel is made in the form of two components with adjustable mirror in-between. All lenses of components are meniscus-shaped and their concave surfaces are facing image plane. First component of thermal imager lens channel is installed in hole of first component of mirror-and-lens channel. First component of mirror-and lens channel is made in the form of plane-parallel strip; second component of mirror-and-lens channel, in the form of convexo-plane lens, and fourth one, in the form of three single meniscus-shaped lenses; first and second meniscuses are facing image plane by their concave surfaces and third meniscus, by its convex one. Second component of thermal imager lens channel is made in the form of single meniscus. Alternative design of proposed eyepiece has first component of thermal imager lens channel made in the form of single meniscus, and first meniscus of second component has its concave surfaces facing object space.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of relative hole of mirror-and-lens channel, improved channel image quality, reduced mass and size.
