FIELD: building and mining percussion action machines, possibly development of manual pneumatic hammers in machine engineering, heavy duty pneumatic percussion action machines for breaking rocks and frozen grounds.
SUBSTANCE: in pneumatic hammer with throttle type air distribution between wall of sleeve and outer lateral surface of cylinder there is annular non flow-through afterburner. Boost ducts providing cyclic communication of afterburner with working-stroke chamber are made in the form of radial ducts in wall of cylinder. Spacing between end of cover turned to working-stroke chamber and cut-off edge of cut of boost duct at side of adjacent outlet duct is cyclically closed by means of striker and it is less than length of striker. Cover has additional throttling calibrated duct for mutual communication of constant distributing-network chamber with non flow-through afterburner.
EFFECT: improved design providing increased percussion power of hammer, increased energy of single percussion.
